Read Beyond the Beaten Path - 2023 Summer Reading for All Ages - June 26-August 11

How It Works

We invite you to come into the library this summer to celebrate reading, nature, and exploration guided by this year’s theme, “Read Beyond the Beaten Path.” Participants of all ages can read books and complete challenge activities for a chance to win fantastic prizes!

FOR KIDS & TEENS

Kids and teens can receive buttons, free books, and raffle entries by participating in this year’s Summer Reading Challenge!

Earn virtual badges by completing activities, and then visit the library to pick up matching buttons for your very own reading ribbon! This summer we also want to reward you for practicing the healthy daily habit of reading. If you log 30 days of reading this summer, you will earn a free book!

End-of-summer raffle prizes for kids will feature favorite characters, popular books, and more! Teens will have a variety of themed raffles to choose from as well, including interests such as nature, art, and gaming! Registering for Summer Reading is easy with Beanstack! See below for details. Challenge registration begins on June 26th.

Our youth events this summer will include storytimes, crafts, and STEM programs. Tweens & teens will also have events especially for them — cupcake decorating, crafts, tie-dye, and more! Most programs will require registration; check our event calendar for more details and registration information.

FOR ADULTS

Adults can use Beanstack to read and earn raffle entries too! To participate in the challenge, complete various activities. Each completed activity will earn you raffle tickets that can be entered into the end-of-challenge prize drawings. To master the Summer Reading Challenge and automatically be entered into our grand prize raffle, complete all 15 activities. Enjoy a summer full of great events for adults, including concerts, art programs, book chats, wellness, and history events.

Register on Beanstack to get started. See below for additional instructions. Challenge registration begins on June 26th. For adults who do not wish to participate online, traditional paper game cards will be available in the library beginning June 26th. Stop in and register to receive your game card.
