The library has redesigned the former literacy room to serve as a new Education and Employment Resource Center. The EERC will serve as a training space and will accommodate the programs described below.

Resume/Cover Letter Workshops & Clinics

Resume Workshop
Saturday, January 31, 10:30 am – 12:30 p.m.

Learn the fundamentals for writing resumes and cover letters that get noticed in a tough job market. This workshop provides one hour of resume writing instruction led by a career professional, followed by an additional hour of computer time to work on your resume or cover letter, ask questions, and receive feedback. Please bring a flash drive to save your work.

Resume/Cover Letter Clinics
Tuesday, January 6, 5:30-8:30 pm., (registration begins December 19), OR
Wednesday, January 28, 5:30-8:30 pm., (registration begins January 12) OR
Tuesday, February 17, 5:30-8:30 p.m. (registration begins February 2)

Make a one-on-one appointment to have your resume or cover letter reviewed and edited by an expert.

  • Individual appointments last for 30 minutes
  • Only one appointment per person per session; you may attend more than one session
  • A draft resume or cover letter is required. Please bring a printed-out copy; you may also bring a copy on a flash drive to make on-the-spot edits
  • Visit or call the reference desk (477-7476, option #4) to schedule an appointment
  • Walk-ins will be accommodated if space permits

English Language Conversation Group

English Language Conversation Group meetings are postponed until further notice. We hope to resume the program in 2015. For information on English language tutoring or for referral to other English language learning programs, please contact Elizabeth at 477-7476 x125.

High School Equivalency (HSE) Preparation

These classes, formerly known as GED classes, are held Monday and Wednesday mornings from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm.
