Walls:  Pastels by Lisa May

Lisa May studied Fashion Design at Parsons School of Design where Illustration became the focal

point of her artistic interest. She worked as a Knitwear Designer and Illustrator for four design houses

before moving to Vermont in 1992. Still enjoying drawing and painting, she studied pastel under

Robert Carsten PSA and pastel became Lisa’s chosen medium.

     She is drawn to the medium of pastel for its texture and flexibility. Lisa uses both hard

and soft pastels as well as wet and dry techniques to create impressionistic images which capture

both landscape as well as still life. She finds Vermont to be an endless source of inspiration.

     Lisa participates in exhibitions and shows throughout Vermont and New England.

She also works on commission.
